Development & Training

Learning & Development on our Graduate training schemes

We believe your career development is just that – yours. That’s why we’ll work with you to tailor your learning and development to your ambitions. You’ll work with the Learning & Development teams, your placement manager and others to identify your development needs, putting together your own personal development plan. Then we’ll help you determine the best way to meet these needs, whether that’s through on-the-job learning, a training course or any other means.

Development Courses

One of the best things about our graduate schemes is the variety of training on offer. Our development courses are designed to help graduates stretch themselves – and their ideas of what they can achieve. There’s a whole portfolio of courses to choose from including Leadership, Assertiveness and Time Management. Of course, you won’t be limited to these modules.

Learning through your Placements

Working on live projects and taking on real responsibility, you’ll be in contact with all sorts of people, many of whom are experts in their field. With this calibre of people and placements, you’ll be sure to gain new knowledge and skills. Then there’s your mid-placement and end of placement review with your placement manager.Together, you’ll weigh your achievements against your objectives, assess your contribution to CR-UK’s vision, and – more importantly – discuss your career aspirations.

 Learning Sets

Every six weeks, you’ll discuss everything you’ve learnt and the challenges you’ve faced with your graduate year group. These sessions will be facilitated by a learning & development expert who’ll help you overcome your personal challenges and encourage you to be ambitious in the goals you set for yourself.

 Sharing Sessions

You’ll meet up regularly with other graduates from both schemes and year groups to discuss your own experiences, learn about the projects they’re working on and hear from other teams across the organisation.

 Support

Throughout the two-year scheme, you’ll have lots of support from all kinds of people, including graduate programme managers, your placement manager and a mentor. Your mentor will be there for you the whole time. They’ll be able to share their knowledge of CR-UK with you, giving you a different perspective on the organisation. Having a mentor gives you direct and frequent contact with an influential individual who takes a personal interest in your career. They’ll discuss any issues you might have, challenge you and help you find your own answers.
